The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

The Fluffiest
Since the only active music thread seems to be the video game music thread, lets have something more broad.

I’ll start out with Pogo’s brand new album which is available for free, and a collection of stuff from Real Tuesday Weld the former of which is all microsampling of disney movies, video games, tv shows and more, and the latter of which is mostly whatever you wanna call that new jazz swing stuff like Catgroove.

The “What are you listening to” thread rises from the ashes every once in awhile.

Brb, compiling a list to fill this thread with Folk Metal.

I dunno, I went back like seven pages and didn’t see anything but the metal thread, video game music thread (which also ate every single search for a music thread title) and hipster music thread (While most people off the internet haven’t heard of him I don’t think 400k subscribers counts as ‘obscure’)

Music threads are kinda rare, shame too since music is life.

Well, I’m going to enlighten people to the glory of Folk and Pagan Metal. I’ll do it slowly at first so as not to overwhelm.

First, we have Tyr, my favorite band. The greatest folk metal band in existence, and the patrons of Viking metal.

By the Light of the Northern Star

Fields of the Fallen

Another Fallen Brother

Next there’s Eluveitie, a Celtic metal band that likes to sing in Gaelic, and they also give one hell of a show at concert.

coming over to this thread to try and deliver as much of a variety

Flourshing are a sick band, but not for the weak at heart as these guys mix Technical Death Metal with Sludgey Post-Metal riffage as well some minor hints of Post-Hardcore/Hardcore Punk

The Bled for some nice Post-Hardcore with minor hints of Mathcore

The Human Abstract for some eargasmic Technical/Progressive Metalcore

one more Technical Metalcore/Mathcore band im gonna throw out but these guys take more from Meshuggah-styled riffs unlike other Mathcore bands, theyre Car Bomb

moving over to Post-Punk/Gothic Rock we have the bleakness of Screams For Tina probably one of the most obscure bands that i know of

Bauhaus are a little bit of a more mainstream example of old school Gothic Rock

a more modern Gothic artist would be Chelsea Wolfe her sound is very unique in how she blends in many other influences ranging from Nick Cave to Sonic Youth to even Industrial and Doom Metal along with others.

i think that a taste of Metal, Hardcore and Gothic Rock is enough for now, dont wanna overload with too much
