I don’t think Metallica’s new album will be as bad as I had thought when Lux Aeterna was first released. Both singles so far were uninteresting as if they ran out of ideas and are recycling old riffs (not that Lux Aeterna and Screaming Suicide are terrible, but they’re not very good either). I didn’t like Hardwired much either when it came out six years ago but now Moth into Flame and Spit out the Bone are among my favorite Metallica songs released after 1988. I expect 72 Seasons to be a slower but heavier album, and for some reason I feel like Inamorata will be a very long epic like The Outlaw Torn or Spit out the Bone if that song was several minutes longer (I’m probably wrong about this).
To be honest I’m more interested in hearing Jethro Tull’s new album when it comes out around the same time.
