Then there the blue fairy or lack of. Due to changes to the story, her role became to just bring him to life. There is no blue fairy bailing him out for him lying and instead Pinnochio lie to get himself out, which is the opposite of the message of the first movie.
Though this raises the questions- Why the changes?
