The Pony Site You Call Home

Derpibooru, up until recently I guess, hasn’t exactly provided the most community-friendly endeavors for us ponies to settle down and enjoy a nice site community.
 
So, where are you all from? FiMChan, some random RP forum in the corner of the bronynets, Ponychan, anywhere at all?

Derpibooru, I guess, it used to be MLB, but now it’s pretty meh, also I kinda like /mlp/

Derpibooru. Very strange mix we’ve got here, but I think it works.

It used to be Ponychan, but I stopped feeling welcome there just a couple of weeks ago. On the flip side, I’ve been liking things here at Derpibooru more and more over the past few months.

Up until Synchtube died last month, it was one of the popular pony rooms. Derpibooru and a forum were close behind, though I’d have to say the latter edges Derpibooru out.

Derpibooru is one of the better places where anons can post alongside regular users with relative freedom. Background ponies may be annoying at times, but they’re just as much part of the fandom as us registered users.

I love the hell out of Derpibooru.  
I like to say “I came for the ponies, but I stayed for the community”.

I’m not bashing Derpibooru, far from it - its a great place. The community at the other place appeals to me more however, and is where I’ve made a good number of close friends, so yes I place it first.

Anyways, Synchtube? I’ve never heard of such pony community before. It died?

It was a website that allowed you to stream media from Youtube, Vimeo, Daily Motions, JustinTV, Twitch, and several other sites; also known as “multi-player youtube” because users would set up their own rooms and playlists. Was a major hub for new episode streams, though it had several well established communities that drew crowds on normal days. Great place to hang out and chat, but it suffered from a variety of faults and was under constant DDOS attack. For various reasons, the owner finally decided to just pull the plug on the site.

I haven’t interacted with any of the pony communities. I tried to post around on a chan before but it never worked out for me. Most of what I get about the fandom comes from what I’m shared with by my fiance QueenCold, and me being here to have commented and now to post in the forums is due to her. Funny, since I’m the one who got her into the show to begin with. I think it’s mostly because I don’t follow fandoms much at all, I tend to enjoy things in my own time and then communicate with others about other random oddities.

Derpibooru.

Derpibooru is the only pony site I visit regularly, but calling it home seems kind of silly to me.

For some reason, I get really really nervous about interacting with people on the internet. It’s like I have to make a hundred first impressions every day without actually seeing anyone’s faces. So, as a result I don’t think I’ve ever interacted enough with the pony community someplace to call it “home”. Hopefully I can change that here on the forums.  
I guess if anywhere had to be home though, it’d be here.

I started out on Ponibooru, and migrated over when it was shut down. Derpibooru has a better user base, though.

I used to hang out on KYM, then i saw links to ponibooru from there and decided to check it out. I saw it as a good place to look at pictures as well as inspiration to start drawing again. And now i’m here. If it wasn’t for ponibooru i most likely would not be going for a graphic arts major.

Though I was on ponibooru, I wasn’t really part of a community.
 
Here, on the other hand…

I was there when Ponychan was born, and I only spent about a month on /co/ before that. I hardly ever use Derpibooru, and don’t touch the comments sections, seeing this site as a resource, not a community. At least not until now…

Derpibooru, not providing enough opportunities for community? What lies!
 
Always been a Derpbibooruian and Ponibooruian before that.

This is the only pony site I go to soooooooooooooooo… This is the place I call home I guess.

It used to be EqD, and I wasn’t on Ponibooru long enough before it closed down to really get to know anyone. Like many people, Derpibooru is now my ‘home base’ of sorts.
 
Like I said on another thread, I don’t really visit many other pony sites to begin with.
