It gets better after Yusei decided to try to save Kalin by duelling him were if his plan fails, he’s sent to a a pseudo coal mine and possibly himself as well for trying to break the rules instead of going to the gang he’s a part of and duelling for him freedom and learning more about what’s happening and why?

Yippee ki yay.

Just finished the arc. While I do enjoy Kalin overcoming his suicidal desires after using people to feed a dark god, and he was pretty badass (who else could live on 0 lifepoints but the Grim Reaper himself?), as well as the anime remembering that gun exist, it relying on Security not knowing about the disappearances, the source of such a valuable resource not drawing attention to a company that wouldn’t give a fuck about the duelling laws, main character powers, and the like bother me way too much. Wish he kept a non-dark-synchro version of Hundred Eyes Dragon, would be cool to see the card he used to harm his friends now protecting them and others, like a “the weapon I once used to harm my friends will now protect them” situation, especially since the Dark Signer cards are pretty cool outside of the Earthbound ones.

The whole premise of yugioh is dumb! A card game where the entire world is at stake and as seen in GX, goes as far as to determine your social status
 
It’s when it does stuff like this when it truly shines. A whole place where they still duel but have disks shaped like revolvers while still having the same harshness and every man for itself mentality of the west. It’s a spaghetti western with card games what’s not to like?
 
The rest of 5D’s still gets awesome moments (and even more stupid) but it never reaches the level of crashtown did, which is that sweet spot of balance between dumb fun and cool drama nor does other series. They either take it way too much on one side or the other

That’s yugioh in a nutshell

Forgot to do a ep recapp yesterday, so here we go:
 
85: Deadbeat son gets scolded for trying to clean his father’s clock, has attitude fix my local birdman.
 
86-91: I think me and Nova’s conversation yesterday should give you a good idea. Still, to quote DBZ Abridge: He’s so cool, but so dumb! Also, I now want Kalin and Sherry to hook up, since their kids would be badasses.
 
92: Jack should have uppercutted that bitch, and there should be a 10 minute loop of him doing it.
 
93: “I’m Alfred, but younger.”
 
94-95: So, who didn’t call the business guy being the killer? Also, there goes mass-produced D-Wheelers.
 
96-97: Team Unicorn are going to be assholes, aren’t they? They just give off that vibe, and I wouldn’t be surprise if they were the ones to cause Crow’s injury.

It’s humorous how some people believe that a lot of the questionable rules during season one were only in the American version.

I thought it was DM in a cyber world. Either way, the game has a DM world already, so it comes across as an excuse for more DM characters, even though DM has the highest number of playable characters already. It’s kind of stupid.

I had an odd Yu-Gi-Oh dream where I was in class, and we were watching the 5D’s without dub or sub, and weren’t aware of what was going on, and there wasn’t a single duel so far.

Here’s something I just thought of: How different is the first ep of DX sub and dub?
