Titanimal Cringe Thread

The amusing thing about kiwi-farms is practically every user with over, say, 10 posts, acts “cringier” than most everyone they point and laugh about, and their obsession (and often outright anger) over other people being “weird” is some of the saddest behaviour you can find online.

Accurate. Calling us “rabid horsefucking basement dwellers” is a great example. Most anti-bronies are more obsessed with hating ponies themselves than many bronies I met are with ponies.

I’ve never been there myself. From looking at just page 14 of this thread, I guess its a place where people talk crap about each other/post “cringe” threads and images.

It’s a forum that was initially obsessed with ChrisChan, much like this thread is obsessed with titanimal, or that other thread with bhaalspawn (and IMO neither of these threads deserve to have this many posts).
 
At some point it expanded into covering anyone someone thought was “weird”. While there’ve been some cases of genuinely awful people being exposed for what they are through that site, the vast majority is just people spending hours pointing and laughing at others for being different / socially awkward.
 
Many of them go straight beyond “hey this is weird/funny” and into base hate or nerd-elitism, with threads about people or topics having most posters not contribute any valuable or interesting information, but just pitch in to say “I hate this”, “I want this person to be maimed” or “laugh at this person for liking something I don’t like!”.
 
In the end, it’s mostly a bunch of socially inept people whining about other socially inept people.

I never knew (or remembered) that that thread existed until somewhat recently.
 
While I appreciate that there are people that need to be “exposed” or tracked in some way due to the damage they do, there’s a point where people go into a stalker-like lurid and morbid fascination. As for “cringe” in general, some things can be genuinely funny due to their outlandishness from our point of view, but a whole lot of it is just this sick sort of “if I point and laugh at someone weirder than me I’ll feel better and fit with other people”.
 
I should add that none of this is exactly new; tabloids have existed for over a century, gossip and general shitting on others for far longer. I just find it sad, and dislike the amplification of it the internet and “social media” allows.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the “Downfall of TGWTG/Channel Awesome” thread.

Man, what is this guy up to these days?  
FYI, I was just looking at episode images until I stumbled at one created by this guy, and it had links to him and the whole drama and I read it all and… geez. So pardon the necropost.

“Now”? No, he was vandalizing tags during the worst of the hurricane aftereffects. While everything around him was devastated, he was going to a My Little Pony imageboard to set dozens of porn images of ships he didn’t like to “safe”.

He’s no longer deletes or responds angrily to comments critical to him. He’s still obsessed, but gone from total cringe to passable at best.

I noticed that someone was removing his tag from the new Winged Spike comic that’s up to page 6 or so. Sorry, but if his NAME is on it as a collaborator, then it’s getting tagged appropriately.
