yep, but read the manga, it only actually has one extra filler in the anime which while good is no where near as good as the two missing arcs from the manga

sorry, I really haven’t watched it yet, I have been meaning to. Maybe I should before Pokemon X and Y drain my life away.

One Piece is overrated. BIG TIME.
The plot feels directionless, the characters are cookie-cutouts (Zorro = Brooder, Sanji = Pervert, Nami = feisty chick, Luffy = Hot-head, etc.), and it just goes on and on and on.
Also, most of the character designs and voices are… just friggin’ bizarre. I don’t care what kind of screwed up world these guys live in, there is a limit to the zany character designs if you can do if you wanna stay creditable.

These are the same reasons I didn’t want to watch at first. As you said, it seems the plot dopesn’t go anywhere, but mainly because the author tends to abuse the use of foreshadowing and Chekov’s Gun. We are introduced to characters or some object one chapater and they don’t become important after several hundreds later, when ver well we may have forgotten about them.
But to be honest, it kinda grows on you. Yes I know it can get repetitive, yes I know we have seen these characters more than once. But I kept watching and you what? The author actually manage to give a twist to these characters as the story arcs progress. Luffy’s hotheadedness actually ends up working against him, Zoro depsite being the brooder is as idiot as Luffy if not possibly more, Sanji is a perv but not in the way Master Roshi is.
And I think there have been far more bizarre designs than the one’s here (Beavis and Butthead, most Nicktoons from the 90’s).

But, regarding the character designs, 90’s Nicktoons and Beavis and Butthead are supposed to mainly be funny. The designs are comical.
In One Piece the designs are all over the friggin’ map. You got more realistic ones like Zorro or Robin, more comical ones like Usopp, and then these kinda things.
What. The hell.

Ah yes, Moriah.
Funny thing is apparently. What you dislike about One Piece may seem one of the reasons why most people like it.
Call me an ignorant, but you don’t need down-to-earth designs in order to tell a story, much in the same way many (myself included) don’t think realistic portrayal equals that everything needs to be grim and depressing.
And we have so much generic art style and narrative on manga, that this one came as something unique. The narrative may seem al over the place, but for some that means they need to pay attention in order to see what details may come up later. They like the character designs because they are nothing like your typical manga.
And hey, it has been running for more than 10 years now, so maybe it is doing something right.

If they’re not going to stop making DBZ games, they need to make ones that are actually NEW. I’m fucking sick of fighting Frieza, Cell, and Buu over and over again.
I’d love to play a game where you play as one of Frieza’s soldiers and slowly work your way up the ranks until you’re in the Ginyu force or something.

No, I completely get what people like about it. I just don’t like it, that’s all.
And my favourite anime of all time, Trigun, has some odd character designs here and there, like these guys here:
And I don’t like those that much either.

I dont see the appeal of anime as its own genre.
I’ve seen animes and liked them but I dont understand watching something because it’s anime.
Being anime should be irrelevant.

True.
That’s also the reason so many Americans and Western Europeans love Cowboy Bebop. Because it’s so detached from the anime “identity”.

I haven’t watched too much of Bleach so I can’t judge that, but I think One Piece is infinitely better than Yu Yu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin combined. God, I hated those shows. At least One Piece was original and much more entertaining, even if the characters were almost always flat.

Moviebob needs to stop being so much of a libtard in his reviews. He’s a good reviewer otherwise.
