I still really like comedic reviewers, and I often prefer them over the more serious critics or video essayists.
 
And I know this is an unpopular opinion, given how Doug Walker has kind of soured the internet to comedic reviewers.

Seeing as the recent NC reviews seem to be getting over 400k views, I think it’s mostly people who hated them before the Channel Awesome controversy that are complaining about comedic reviwers.

This group Twiztid felt that Insane Clown Posse has too much power in the Record Label and that they are too old school refusing to move forward from 90’s White boy Horrorcore rap that aged poorly
 
So they left and made their own record label and surprisingly have been making more modern And higher quality Horrorcore rap , and a lot of rappers left Psychopath records to join them
 
One of those guys that left fucked Violent J’s Niece and Made her pregnant which started the whole civil war between the two faction who otherwise tried make the split as peaceful as possible
 
Basically Juggalos are currently in a state of civil war

I think those types of reviews have been a thing for awhile. Just look at Linkara.

The “old style” is comedic reviews. The new style is more serious analysis or video essays.

Yeah, basically this. I have recently been doing a mix of both, but I don’t think I have enough personality to carry a review on my own without making jokes.

Yeah, but serious video reviews are coming into more prominence more than comedy videos.

Linkara is more on the comedic side though instead of the more serious side (with the skits and running gags he has)

The problem with comedic Reviews is that they often outshined more serious and thoughtful reviews based on the charisma of the reviewer
