Unpopular opinion time (super alpha no pony edition)

The rule I propose is, “If you want to headcanon certain characters, that’s fine. But when you start treating your headcanon like official canon and start attacking other people for not agreeing with you, then you have lost your headcanon privileges.”
 
I particularly see this on Twitter, but I’ve seen it on other platforms as well, and more often than not it’s regarding a character’s sexuality or disabilities.

That’s not restricting people’s ability to create headcanons, though. What you want is for people to not force their beliefs/opinions onto others, which is far from just a headcanon thing.

I’ve seen people get upset at me for headcanoning Dale Cooper as autistic, and I’ve seen people get upset at others for not headcanoning Toph as lesbian (even though she literally isn’t in the show). This is clearly a recurring pattern of people thinking their headcanons are canon and apply for everyone.

It’s the same with most believes/opinions, it just seems like you notice it most with headcanon. Have you never had comments of people telling you’re wrong and should feel bad for it on your videos? That is the same mentality.

Of course I have. I triggered the entire Van Halen fandom by not talking about Fair Warning in a video that was already 36 minutes long.

What? I’m just posting a link and ending it (the latter I should have made more clear).

I dunno I love extremely dark twisted humor, it’s always been my coping mechanism for tragedy. There’s a line between dark humor and just being an ass for offensiveness sake though of course, and there really isn’t anything funny about racist dark humor imo.

Comedy is tragedy plus time.
