Well, technically, it is a disorder. By all definitions it is a deviation from typical neurobehavior.
 
The issue isn’t that it is an illness, it’s the mistreatment of those who have it.

There’s a difference between “disease” and “disorder,” obviously. Like, it’s something you’re born with, it’s not something you can catch like COVID.

Although here’s a possibly unpopular opinion:
 
As someone who is autistic, if a “cure” for autism were made, one that could make me more socially adept while also not damaging the other half of the brain, I would be all for it.
 
(Of course, the problem is that such a cure could not exist until we have a better understanding of the human brain, one of the most complicated parts of our body, an understanding that we simply do not have at this time.)

Considering that we like to watch people film themselves play video games, unbox stuff, or just talk on camera about their daily lives, I don’t see how watching others eat is any different so it’s like whatever to me.
