Vent thread

Was fired from AMC Theaters…over leaving the premises while on break (despite OTHER EMPLOYEES BEING ABLE TO DO SO). Not even a warning, nothing. Scheduled all weekend, arrive bright and early, told I’m fired. **ck them. >X

Dear Luna. School is so dumbed down these days.
 
Eight grade grammar is subjects and verbs which I learned in third grade.
 
Eight grade reading is pathetic and so I skipped up to ninth, and the book? IT was ‘Little Women.’ I read that years ago, and had no challenge whatsoever doing it. School is supposed to teach you something, right?
 
Vocabulary words - Fortitude, Ambidextrous, Deploy… Etc.
 
Science, read about Living Organisms. Pff. Maybe I watch too many health shows, but really?
 
…And I thought I was waaay behind in Math, but… I’m not. Turns out the site I was using before teaches stuff that most schools don’t and I’m actually doing great in math.
 
 
I don’t know how I’m supposed to be learning anything with their stupid dumbed down curriculum. I should not have to move up to ninth grade, I’m not some smart person.

How about schools in conservative states editing anything that involves contraception, evolution, or even going as far as to edit out the “bad” parts of American history in order to promote “patriotism”.
 
I don’t care what side of the aisle does it, tampering with education is a cardinal sin in my book.

I can’t stand the people up here! They are so rude. Not a single day goes by without me being annoyed by some obnoxious person. Oh, and Alaskans can’t drive at all. I’m amazed I’m still alive.

Argentina. Please ignore our president’s claim about USA being the “worst thing ever”. She is just like Chavez, the country of Cuba and many other anti-america countries.
 
Over here the population sees America (USA) as apathetic but highly arrogant. Hyper-patriotic and extremely xenophobic. Paranoid and not exactly trustworthy.
 
We secretly wish we were lika ya, cuz our “nationalism” (that is, the faith we have in our own country as a whole) is nonexistent.

Remind me again of why we’re sticking with the education model developed by the losing side of the First World War…

Of course, everything i am saying is a just a generalization. There are good people in USA too, not everything is bad/good, but we get that kind of vibe from there.
 
Regarding the governments, well, its a matter of “trying” to keep something alive that has been dead for many years, in this case Socialism. Argentina is a special case, because it is a mixture of NeoSocialism and Populism.
 
There will be a great march on 13th November to ask the government to walk down and resign as a whole.

Its just a wish. I can assure you that nothing will happen, at all. The government will just shrug and say “if you want to change how things are done, find yourself a candidate, make him race for the president’s role and win the elections”.

the sad thing is the system is so f’ed up even if the candidate starts out with good intentions, in the long run he/she would probably be as corrupt as any of his/her peers.
 
the truly good ones either are kept at a position of low power to change anything or becomes disillusioned that they don’t seek another term.
