What were your reasons for becoming a Bronie?

Mine were the great and wonderful ideals and lessons taught about the value and beauty of true friendship. (Not that I didn’t already know these things, it’s just nice to see them presented in such a lovely and entertaining way.)

I’m not

I first started watching the show early in season 2. I had seen images of season 1 in the picture thread on vgcats forums which I used to frequent. I thought they were adorable but I dismissed them as being made by some artist on deviantArt or something because I couldn’t believe they were from an actual TV show. The next summer I watched the show for the first time and marathoned through it around 3 times. It was so refreshing to find a show which such an appealing art style and which didn’t pander to their young audience with the same old cliches as other shows. I had an amazing time learning about the fandom and Equestria Daily and Lyra and all that which went on until early 2012 when people started really attacking the show and bronies.

Because I’ve never seen anything as sexy as a pony.

Because Chad “fuck Meghan McCarthy” Rocco recommended the series.

Oh god, that anthology intro. I still remember how it felt before seeing the actual show and the early days in the fandom. Such a magical feeling, tickles inside

I like the show, but I truthfully would have stopped following it had it not been for this site. I do love me some Derpibooru.

I watched Dikekike YTPs back in 2011, read in the comments that the show is genuinely enjoyable, and decided to try it out. I watched Bridle Gossip at 3am and was hooked.
 
Then I found EQD and got hooked on the fan-made content. I was briefly obsessed with “grimdark” tumblr comics, I listened to tons of pony music (my favorites being General Mumble, SoGreatandPowerful’s early stuff, and PinkiePieSwear), I read some awesome fanfics (The Night That Never Ended), and found plenty of sillyness.
 
Eventually I no longer needed EQD, as I accumulated a network of good Youtube subscriptions, got fed up with EQD’s userbase (the comments), and realized that Tumblr and EQD weren’t very good for finding fanart. Thats when I found my true love: Derpibooru.

I read Cupcakes and honestly thought that was Pinkie’s canon personality. By the time I realized it wasn’t I was hooked on the show proper.

My encounter is actually quite interesting. I actually took it upon myself to watch the whole series on Netflix(mind you this was only when seasons 1 and 2 were out). I had no idea that bronies existed until about a month after watching it. Then I joined the herd and participated in The Wait. Also, am I the only one who thought gen 3 MLP wasn’t as bad as everybody says it is?
