Sadly, it’s true. With the exception of California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, Missouri, Louisiana, Illinois, New York, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, it is illegal to operate a lemonade stand of any kind in the US (Even my home state of Kentucky has this absurd law).
What I wanna know is why. Why do American citizens need a business permit just to sell lemonade? FFS most of these stands are ran by kids who don’t know a thing about licenses or permits! Why on earth is the government passing laws that basically threaten to destroy a popular American tradition?
