Alot of people are saying they’re buying the “Happy Home Paradise” DLC by itself, without the Switch Online Expansion, (where you basically get it allegedly for free if you get the Expansion) out of protest of the Expansion’s price.
I doubt that will make a difference, because you’re still paying $30 for it by itself, the same price for the Expansion pass, if you already have a normal $20 subscription.
So you’re paying $30 extra either way, so I doubt Nintendo will get the “message” that 30 bucks extra is too much…
(I love Nintendo, but they don’t listen to fan criticism well sometimes… Though, sometimes that’s a good thing, like the pseudo-online-activist people trolling on social media that “Zero Suit Samus” is “sexist,” and such…)
In fact, honestly I think $30 is too much for the “Happy Home Paradise” DLC by itself, as well.
I understand it’s basically a semi-game on it’s own, and basically a sequel to the 3DS “Happy Home” game, but even that was only $20.
Still looks neat though for those that like to customize. So not trying to hate on it.

Yeah, I live the Switch, but it’s interface/start-up menus look so bland, lifeless, computer-y, and dare-I-say corporate like every other game console…
Even the Wii’s quirky menu, with it’s set up, sounds, odd aps, and interface looked more unique, and such.
Even the Wii photo ap music, puzzle minigame, and stuff was nice.

I admit, I missed it too, the cafe was oddly relaxing.
I’m glad so many things missing are back. Now “New Horizons” feels almost complete.
…Still hope it has the 3DS Zelda/Nintendo furnitire/clothes. Lol
I want an Arwing in my house again. (Which was in every game until now.)
Everyone’s excited the Froggy Chair is back. Lol so at least one highly wanted item is back.

I thought the Happy Home Paradise DLC was 24.99 separate from the NSO Expansion Pass and I thought Happy Home Designer for 3DS cost more. Also the Expansion Pass is NOT the same price as the Happy Home Paradise DLC, that crap is $50.
Those menus were so much interactive friendly! Why was that sacrificed for the Switch? To cut costs that they could have obviously afforded?
YES. Bring back the Arwing.

I thought if you already have a normal $20 yearly subscription, the Expansion is only $30 extra to upgrade? (To equal the $50 a year expansion.) I’ll have to check…
And yeah, the Happy Home Paradise DLC is $24.99 on the Eshop by itself so you guys are right, but still “free” with the Expansion Pass. (Basically, partly a bribe for the price hyke. I wonder if they plan on other future Expansion games, as well) Apparently, you keep it, even after your subscription expires, at least. So that’s one good thing.
If the $50 Expansion price was just for the first year, and every year after was back to $20 with the Expansion at no extra cost, I wouldn’t mind it honestly. I know Nintendo can’t just give their N64 games for free, (and it takes developers time & money to port them to Switch, especially to ensure multiplayer works online) and they have to pay Sega for their games, but still…
(And frankly, thanks to the Sega Collection game on Switch, I already have their games. The Sega Castlevania & Contra games are also in the Switch Eshop Castlevania/Contra collections too. The only perk is online multiplayer.)
I remember 5 N64 Virtual Console games on Wii & WiiU were $50, as they were $10 a piece (and 6 Sega VC games too, at $8 each) so I guess the subscription is still cheaper then VC, (provided they keep updating the game library, and you have to pay to use Nintendo’s servers anyway) but lacks the novelty of keeping what you buy.
I dunno, the price of the Expansion still bugs me. I’d be fine with $30 or maybe even $40 a year, once they add more games…

Sorry if I’m ranting too much about it. I’ll try to cut down on the walls of text, and get back to discussing AC. Lol
I think they were trying to look more “mature,” and like the other rival console menus. At least, the profile avatars are nice.
Starfox needs more love.
