It was canned a year ago. the 2nd season didn’t even get, the 26 usual episode order which probably meant it was scuttled.
 
Not even Equestrian girls movie had a two year hiatus before debuting. There’s trouble with the show no doubt. I remember trying to watch an episode or two and it dragged on. I can’t imagine sitting through a 2 hour movie of jokes overstaying their welcome and the usually stop of slap-dash idiocy people will just swallow as comedy.
 
There’s a reason the TMNT in the Nickelodeon smash bros. clone are the ones from the original 80’s. Hell, they could have used the 2014 ones, they were CGI already, but they know people want to wash the sour taste of that show. I wouldn’t doubt they quietly pull the plug on it, if not drop it onto a streaming service to cut losses like Disney has done.

It was a combination of Nick’s usual fumbling with a show that’s not successful like Spongebob or The Loud House and the change in network executives with the new guys who decided to gut anything that wasn’t in their favor.

As I mentioned in my last post, the movie was always planned to be released on Netflix and production was announced/began before the show got canceled.

They did it with the 2012 show as well, albeit in a VERY unusual manner.

I guess Even Netflix thinks it was more power rangers than reboot

I do hope they’re not actually planning on doing Live action rick and morty with Christopher Lloyd Because I don’t think he would be a good fit to play him long term. Yes rick did start as a Parody of doc Brown But he still much different now

The 2012 Nick TMNT series was great though, (even Eastman loved it) and I wouldn’t of minded their designs.
 
Didn’t care for “Rise” (the 2018 reboot) though. It felt too comical even for TMNT.

i haven’t seen it myself but I heard it gets better as it goes on

First one and a half seasons are good but feel very similar to Teen titans go, despite having a few dark moments here and there.
 
However, about halfway through season 2 it gets really, really good and stays that good right to the end. It gets very dark and some shocking things happen, but it never feels out of place.
 
The 2012 show is way better then the original 1987 show and almost as good as the 2003 show. Well worth the watch.

1990 live action tmnt movie=Celluloid Turtle perfection. One of the most faithful comic book adaption ever and the perfect blend of the original comics and the 1987 cartoon elements.
