Maybe it shouldn’t have been. However, even the creator of Rescue Rangers said they thought the film was fantastic, appreciated the nods to the original series, and liked that it went Meta. As someone who hasn’t watched Rescue Rangers, I thought it was an alright film, and it had some funny jokes. I actually commend the legal team for assembling for all the characters that debuted (like Randy Marsh), and I like how they salvaged Sonic’s first design. However, I do understand if some fans wanted an actual Rescue Rangers movie.

I mean, Gadget definitely should’ve gotten more to do. But I’m not griping over it. When you think about it, both her and Zipper are the only characters who are happy where they currently are Post-RR. It’s better than her being the damsel in distress or the Big Bad, and I remember you wishing she wasn’t either.

It will be a mystery unless someone leaks the script.

I don’t know if the film’s explicitly anti-fanwork message is much better, but maybe that’s just me.

Oh, I do believe the film is technically competent, and there are a number of imaginative ideas and a few actually funny jokes. But it just feels like a massive missed opportunity on so many levels. And as for Gadget, even as gross as she and Zipper are together, I guess it’s a little better than having her be a twist villain or a damsel, but they could have at least had her in the movie for more than five minutes.

As long as it stayed true to her character, then it would drop off a cliff in the first week, but yes. People love Gadget, just like they didn’t Teela before Kevin Smith and many other characters warped into whatever they want them to be.

They did.

It was supposed to be a parody of the “Johnny Johhny Yes Papa” meme that was going around at the time, it just ended up being poor timing when the series actually aired.

I watched My Fair Lady the other day, I haven’t seen it in years and was curious to see it, and honestly after rewatching it I was totally unaware of just how much this movie was referenced and parodied on Family Guy. Like the Sound of Music, I guess this is just one of those films Seth MacFarlane happens to really like.

On a related note: The Beginner’s Room from the Kirby series sounds an awful lot like I Could Have Danced All Night (Maybe SilvaGunner should make an edit)

I just looked up the Rescue Rangers comics on Amazon after someone recommended them to me and it’s apparently $250 for the first one. NOPE.

Yeah, they got rare and expensive quick. I think there were also some issues behind the scenes that led to paperback releases being scarce.
