What is the advantage and disadvantage of an Automatic Rifle with a slow rate of fire?

I’m guessing greater accuracy, since the gun isn’t trying to fire as many bullets at once.

Another advantage is low recoil, although this is dependable.

You can have a slow firing gun with heavy recoil as well as an extremely fast firing gun with low recoil. Depends on the round and weapon design.

Less muzzle rise in full auto fire is the advantage.
 
The disadvantage, especially for close-range urban warfare environments, is that targets are typically exposed only for brief moments and higher rate of fire increases the odds of getting metal on target when someone on the other team is exposed for a moment while his team is moving forward in bounds.
 
This was one of the reasons the Russians went with mass-producing the PPSh41, despite the fragile and expensive drum magazines that had to be hand-fitted to individual receivers. It cycled at 900 RPM, which was found to be highly desirable for ambushes in urban alleys.
