Metroid series discussion

Was Prime 2 really that much harder than the other two games? I do hear that the Wii Trilogy version is at least a little easier. (Really need to finish those games)

I also remember Mogenar being a pain in the ass when I had the standalone version of Prime 3.

It mostly due to how much of a pain a pair of certain bosses were in the game (Boost and Spider Ball Guardian).

Yeah, which were also significantly nerfed in the Wii version (plus the “Normal” difficulty provided for the Wii versions of 1 and 2 is actually already easier than the original “Normal” difficulty from those games).

I’m aware of that and I can easily understand why too (I struggled against the former while I found the latter annoying).

The issue with Mogenar in 3 is that you HAVE to use Hypermode to damage its orbs enough to prevent him from regenerating, but you have like 5 Energy Tanks at the most by that point.

I remember that fight, that was one pretty annoying since it also takes so long to get through the fight.

The chozo ghosts are so frustrating to fight before you get the X-Ray visor, especially in the Hall of elders when you are doing the beam slot puzzles.

Yep, made worse by the fact that you can only use the power beam, but at least they’re mitigated a little with the super missile.

Also, like i said, you can actually track them properly once you get the X-ray visor. Too bad that you don’t get it until really late into the game.

Oh god, yes. Fortunately I remember that at the point I left off at I’m about to get the X-Ray Visor.
 
Not helped that at a certain point they constantly show up in certain rooms every time you enter those rooms.

Also, some of those rooms automatically disable puzzles until you deal with them.

I kind of wish that Metroid prime had a option to choose if you want to simply press the shoulder button once and do a auto lock on or actually hold on to the button like the zelda games have.

I think the thing that makes the reactor segment for metroid fusion even more aggravating is that they troll the player by placing a save area in the area before the boss that is offline and can’t be used.

That kinda annoyed me too. lol though I guess it does serve a purpose for after you beat the boss, and restore power to the entire space station.
 
Of course, you can cheat that now with Virtual Console, or something.

I like how the Hint system in metroid prime 1 and 2 is more like a mission or objective system.

If they were to remake metroid: other m, they need to fix the story issues.

I’ve always said that there are ways you could make most of those story concepts work, but they just… didn’t.

For example, they could change the infamous scene where Samus encounters Ridley.

Super Metroid in 3d please Nintendo. But wait for next gen cause I don’t have a switch and won’t be buying any video games for at least another 6 months, if not a couple years. Lol.
