I wonder if people will look back at the depressing, no melody songs of today and see it like how we see music during the Great Depression

When it comes down to classic straight Heavy Metal stuff Motorhead are my absolute favorite. They seemlessly melded 70s Hard Rock and Punk into their own perfect sound.
rip Lemmy. Overkill, Another Perfect Day, Ace of Spades, and the debut are my favorite albums of theirs.

One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2020 was to let go of guilty pleasures, and admit to enjoying things openly and unabashedly. So, here goes.
*deep breath* I absolutely love The Pointer Sisters.

I don’t know who that/they is/are but your sentiment is sound and I approve of no guilt.

They were a pop group from the ‘70s and ‘80s who did songs such as I’m So Excited and Dare Me.
I’m a rocker/metalhead, so I used to be a bit ashamed to love their music, but no more! I can’t help it, their songs always get me hype.

I just use “guilty pleasures” as a fun little term to describe things that I like that arent really things I can “defend” as “good music”. I dont have any genuine guilt over anything I call a guilty pleasure.

Dude, The Pointer Sisters are a great group, no need to feel ashamed about that.
For my musical guilty pleasure, I like Christian music, especially Christian Rock. What I’ve listened from it is pretty legit.

Fair enough.

Right?? I love their music. (Legit, I could be in the worst depressive funk, but I throw on “I’m So Excited” and it will convince me to at least get some clothes on.)
Understandable, there’s some Christian rock I can defend, at least on a musical standpoint.

Like, I’m a Christian myself and I do believe in a God, but I’m not overly religious or anything like that. With that said, I do find some Christian music to be inspiring and positive despite it being about praying and finding salvation and Jesus Christ himself and all that. Christian Rock on the other hand can be kickass a lot of the times and I can put it in the same quality as alt rock and post-grunge.

I have come to be an unironic lover of the “shitty pop music” I used to play because it was popular at parties in college. I’ll explain more, but first and foremost, let me take a selfie.
