It’s affirmative action at its most blatant and toxic form. They’re sending the wrong message about minorities by doing this, not empowering them. Instead of eliminating “problematic” obstacles, they should be looking to help them learn to get THROUGH the obstacles.

Over 70 dead in south/midwest tornado outbreak.
Western Kentucky was the bullseye. Death toll could top 100. The EF5 tornado that caused the most damage was on the ground through 4 states. 227 miles. If so this exceeds the path of the Tri State tornado of March 18, 1925.

Train derailed by tornado. One car was thrown into a house, another thrown 75 yards up a hill.
A water tower in Mayfield, KY was uprooted and flattened, leaving a crater where the concrete base was.

Allegedly the company wouldn’t let people leave early before the storm hit (the sirens first sounded 3 hours before the tornado hit). If the company didn’t have a place for employees to take shelter that is a major fuck up. The place I work at has an underground shelter. Policy is as soon as a warning is issued, everyone drops what they’re doing and heads for it (except for maintenance, which has to shut the machines down first then go to it).
