Managed to catch the update

Well, that was the fastest that I’ve killed an Ace spirit (for context, Rhea’s dragon walked into the blast zone).

Tested Byleth out a bit. Not sure what’s different about the side special, but the neutral and down specials are distinct versions of other characters’ moves and the up special is really distinct. EDIT: Okay, so according to the wiki the side special changes based on how and where it’s input. Interesting…

You know, for as long as I’ve played against the Spirits in this game, I have NEVER gotten Zero to death by one…until I fought against Sothis’ spirit….

Someday. But I don’t have any money right now.

I’m pretty sure the dlc is unaffected by the online membership subscription service. All you need is an internet connection.

I don’t have the online subscription but can still download the dlc and access the spirit board events.

Okay after playing Byleth for a bit.
 
The character is slow but has a lot of power. Also I beat that Sothis with Beast Ganon on Kirby. It just took me a while.

After training with Byleth and fighting against others that use him/her, I dunno if I like them.

Okay after fighting a level 9 Byleth I learned a couple things.

You can up B someone, then side B them in the air if they’re low percentage.
 
If the opponent is 50% and above, it starts to spike
 
At 100% and up, it spikes hard

Oh trust me I know and apparently Byleth has a 0% kill with DK.
 
So Byleth is super good against DK.

While I’m not a big fan of the Fire Emblem, I do like that the end of Byleth’s Classic mode has all the other FE characters join you to fight Master and Crazy Hands.

Okay, so Claude and Setet can go die in a fire. Who thought Claude would be a good idea for a spirit battle? That’s a particularly sadistic combination of effects, I’m just glad it’s not a lava floor. Seteth, though… I don’t have the reflexes to play defensively, so I rely on Simon’s range, and Dr Mario seems to be a hard counter to that. I had to up my spirit strength to over 13,000 to beat them. They have 5000 or less. Am I pathetic?

I honestly didn’t have too much trouble fighting those (then again, I was using Byleth in both of those fights).

To make matters worse, you can only nullify one of the effects.
