Sometimes I thought that hope doesn’t seem fitting for atheism, because it requires belief, which is against what atheism is supposed to be.
Even though it is better that an atheist would be motivated to overcome their disaster, I personally think the very belief of “hope” is unrealistic, especially because the world is a living Hell.
Why worry about Hell when the world is Hell? And why worry about paradise after you die, when it’s better not to starve or miss out on what makes you happy?

There’s no such thing as “paradise” after death. Why live for some consolation prize if that’s the only to find happiness in life. And furthermore, why be moral only because a God coerced you for some “paradise” by his own code? That’s not life, that’s conformity.

I think hope is very unrealistic. Life is full of disappointments, and not even prayers can stop them.
Sometimes I think that pessimist nihilism is the most realistic view in life. The best anyone can do is work hard or die trying, and suffering will always be everywhere to torment you, no matter how much you want to be happy and hopeful to escape the bleakness of the real world.
Life is only the upper ceiling of Hell. If the Gods aren’t even real at all, life only wants to make us miserable slaves as it destroys everything we love through every bad thing that happens to us.
For every one blessing anyone enjoys, ten more curses and torments follow. Everything we make and build will be swept away by some disaster or some careless idiot, and we have to start all over, endlessly, instead of living happier lives.
What would any atheist here share as their advice?
I feel as if the Gods will never answer any prayers at all, from the lack of success, delays, and constant disappointments I been through recently.
Without any prospect of a better life even if I keep trying hard, and looking back at everything I lost along the way, every poor decision that led me to such a subpar situation, and every worsening thing caused by some distant idiots (like the Great Recession, poverty and corporate domination, COVID 19), I sometimes think that life on Earth is Hell.

Using your religion for a vaccine exemption is disrespectful to your faith.
You’re using your religion as little more than an excuse to get out of inconveniences.

In my stories, the main character worships the Slavic gods of her country, but she also prays to Hindu deities as her ancestral gods.
The context is that her people were Hindus, but they are fine with also praying to Slavic deities because their ancestors were influenced by their Slavic neighbours and their culture.
Would it be offensive as “cultural appropriation”? To some extent, it reminds me of us Chinese people praying to Indian deities through Buddhism, like Indra as the Jade Emperor.

Well, it does. Her worship of Svarog (the Slavic god of the forge) motivated her to seek more knowledge, and her worship of Kali (the Hindu goddess of destruction and eternity) motivated her to be kind.

… I didn’t see that coming. I should have responded earlier, now I think it’s too late to respond in the same way without it coming across in some inconsiderate fashion.
I’m not sure I know what you meant, entirely, though I saw the post.
I’ve read that around 4,100 years ago (Abraham’s time in Genesis,) language was a very condensed thing, comparatively to now. I’m not going to be surprised if there are multiple meanings for words that actually link to other meanings here. Words have changed a great deal since then, just as the last 410. “Fear the Lord” has really taken a beating, for one. It didn’t mean “be scared shitless,” more like “be in awe and reverence,” kinda like “how amazing is the grand canyon?”

This seems like blatant discrimination against those who aren’t Mormon. This should be illegal. This is why I can’t recommend anyone to join the Mormon Church.
For those who don’t know, a “temple recommend” is basically a document certifying that you are 100% compliant with the Mormon Church’s policies. To get one, you have to have one of those interviews with the bishop where he tries to get you to confess to things like whether or not if you were looking at pornography (which the church REALLY hates for some reason,) if you’ve masturbated, cheated on your spouse, if you’ve paid your tithings, etc.

If churches were actually living up to the teachings of Jesus, every church in every city would be open 24/7 taking in the homeless and needy.

The whole “God forgives” really bit us in the ass when people realized they could do all sorts of heinous shit, but still be clean as a whistle as long as they remember to pray for forgiveness.
