i wish there were actual vocal coaches irl that taught how to do gutturals, growls without destroying your vocal cords

I… should of waited until my throat wasn’t sore/worn down.. buuut, I sang it anyway lawl

But yeaaah, coulda done a better job if uh.. eh, oh well

It’s also a REALLY hard to sing.. I didn’t even realize how like.. just how every thing is sung.. a lot of areas what I sang sounded like a completely different song cause the timings weren’t exactly right
I know a lot of the issue is also that I missed a LOT of notes..
and I have to use a certain amount of power for the notes to come out strong and the song just doesn’t give a lot of chance for that..

hmm.. I think I should of sung softer… the ending actually sounds better imo because I started to get tired and sang softer XD

Also a lot of the lower parts I used an airy soft voice and it sounds out of place.. oh well

Tried singing the end section of Fireflies in a lower voice.. I hit the a#1 note but not until the middle of the note.. and I missed a bunch of other notes a bit

I think I need to relax more when singing.. that’s so clean compared to the one I did in the previous recording!

I purposely added a little grit on the previous one but the reason I did is I heard I was struggling to hit and doing that helps it sound better in that case..
um.. just need to relax even more.. but it’s hard.. I know I need to relax as otherwise it limits my range so much but.. sigh

I did that a little bit further away from the mic and with the volume turned really high so it might of clipped a little.. I was lazy to turn volume down so I just backed away from the mic XD

I made a ton of mistakes and on the chorus kept going too low.. also at the end I hit more f4 instead of f#4 which is a mistake I’ve made on this song multiple times lol

the long note in the beginning is slightly too low/airy/strained… and could have added more grit (I was so focused on just making the notes not sound absolutely horrible)
Probably should have made some notes not as strong and less loud/softer… hmm

lol, my voice slipped into falsetto at the very end XD I guess I coulda kept trying for something not full on falsetto but oh well…

Also I was tired and it kind of shows a bit in the recording… and it’s hard to time when to sing in some areas because some parts start on silence so there’s no direct cue XD

I need to learn more MLP songs… I don’t know any of the newer EQG songs or Rainbow Roadtrip… and even though I didn’t know this one very well, it was still really fun to sing something relatively new…
