That’s a level of reduction you may as well take further. Like so: Lee Oswald is literally the reason this website exists (for the political consequences that would eventually result in Reagan’s election), Walt Disney is literally the reason this website exists (for popularizing animation); Karl Marx is literally the reason this website exists (for the cascade effect leading to reaganomics); Judas Iscariot is literally the reason this website exists (for getting Jesus killed which catapulted Christianity which lead to etc.) and so on.
 
Basically what I’m saying is that sort of linear thinking between A and B ignoring everything in between and before is past a certain point absurd and deceptive.

Other way round actually. How do I know that? Ask yourself: what do violent video games, movies, and immigration have to do with gun rights? If you answered dick-and-all, then congratulations, you can see that the NRA is more-or-less a republican front-group rather than a gun-rights organisation.
 
I didn’t even get into their “muh blue lives matter” whenever “their kind” decides to express their gun-rights, or how up until the 1990s, they supported all the major gun restrictions, especially ones that targeted minorities.
