A lot of people don’t understand socialism, and equate it to communism. Or act like certain South American countries are bad because of it when in reality they use a horrible version of capitalism.

Also, Bernie himself stated in 2016 that he’s not necessarily socialist, but rather anti-deregulated neoliberal capitalism, as in pro-regulated capitalism that is either keynesian captitalism, Nordic captitalism, or somewhere in between, which is fine by me, I guess.

I live inn EU and yes policies are very socialist, especially for reducing climate change. Right-Wing people can’t stand authority and that’s a huge problem, and the fuel of capitalism. To me, Bernie is a centrist, not a socialist.

The problem is that the Overton Window (Scope of acceptable discussion) in America has shifted so far to the right that Bernie is seen as a Godless Authoritarian Commie, American Liberals/Centrists are slightly right-wing and Right-wing people are -

Bernie is pretty solidly left, and a socialist. The man may be running on a leftist but not quite socialist platform right now. He got himseld booted out of a commune for being lazy, became a politician, then ran on a platform of hoping people ignore the failed socialism of latin america and focus on the “socialism” of the nordic countries, countries highly rated in economic freedom.
