Don't blame me, I voted for the other guy. (Politics General)

Well, the later seasons definitely injected politics into the show, such as having friendship being taught in a multicultural institution (despite this going against the very core of the series). Tara Strong even wanted to namedrop Trump in regards to Neighsayer, but she was thankfully held back. But yes, as a result the newer community tends to be more left-leaning and often butts heads with the older /mlp/ fans.
Also, watch out with your ad hominems, it doesn’t take much for your comment to be removed here.

They don’t give a fuck about getting informed but love to have opinions.

No offense to other posters, but he does have a point. Seems like most others here are content with posting a single tweet/headline and saying an opinion rather than giving updates or informed analysis on current issues. As far as politics go it’s a low standard.

It was never expressly political but Equestria represented an idyllic homeland for ponies (who have a very Europe-based culture) and was very hooves-off in regards to government with it consisting of a monarchy/diarchy. Moral lessons were common-sense good values rather than anything being pushed as politically correct now. It’s easy to see how libertarians, traditionalists and nationalists were very attracted to it, in contrast to a show like Steven Universe which was always explicitly political.

I don’t give a shit about radical feminists, they can go dive face-first on a 10-ft long blade for all I care. Even “moderate” feminists are still very progressivist by the very nature of what they advocate and therefore left-leaning.

As such, everything about the show showcases a lot of progressive ideals such as Equestria being pretty much a matriarchy and female-dominated (sure you could say this is because it’s a show primarily aimed at girls but my point still stands that the show has a lot of left-leaning ideals built into it).

Probably once left became “fuck white people”. I know I was pretty progressive until progressive came to mean fucking communism, race based original sin guilt, deplatforming of people even criticizing deplatforming people even if they generally agreed on most other values, everyone’s a Nazi, etc.

Don’t be surprised when you start purity testing and bullying people out of your fucking group and one day end up with everyone against you because you pushed them the fuck out.

Female-dominated societies are not really “feminist” in a political sense unless if you want to argue that the Greeks who came up with the myth of the Amazons were somehow proto-feminists. The point I’m making is that Faust did not inject her politics in the show but rather used her feminist beliefs in a positive manner by wanting to make a high-quality show that although marketed for girls could be enjoyed by everyone. She believed that girls could appreciate a show with believable and nuanced characters, gripping plot, and in-depth morals. That is admirable regardless of one’s personal politics, and critics of nuMLP lobby that narrative decline was due to excuses made that the show was “for little girls.”

@MethidMan
Woman being treated equally is hardly a left leaning topic. What Faust was pushing worked for those people watching who yoy would consider right leaning because they agreed with it. The audience from /co/ liked the show because it was a fun show, they didn’t care that the characters were female.

More Bullshit. They know the difference between peaceful protestors and Violent Rioters. Like seriously, you people are better than this, Why do you keep believing in this shit?

Every single global corporation is championing the protests despite the riots trashing their stores and hurting their employees. The media, not just the news, is also promoting the protest movement relentlessly. At 3:00 Eastern on sirus XM they held a program for a moment of silence for George Floyd. On every station.
About four-ish minutes.
This is being pushed relentlessly on the American public even though it is essentially a manufactured crisis and most Americans want the National Guard at least to stop the riots. This is being organized from the top across all channels.

Me, a definitely NOT left-leaning guy: Criticize capitalism, without mentioning socialism one bit.
Guy: Communism killed 100 million

Me: We doing death counts now, niggas? REALLY?! Nah fuck that shit. I’m from third world where capitalism exploits ppl left right and center, where the government use capital for securing votes and killing dissenting niggas since its independence, where the 1% owns 80% of total wealth, and ppl can skip 100 steps in the bureaucracy if they have capital, leaving those unfortunate enough to not be born into wealth (they don’t even have to be poor) basically playing a shit hand against good players, and where democratically elected socialist figures are killed by western death squads.

And that’s just one country. Forget communism, let’s talk about them capitalism yeah? Don’t just talk about capitalism success stories niggas talk about its failing too and how YOU, the developers, can help fix it. Because apparently these 3rd world govts are installing some fucked up deprecated pirated modded version of capitalism and the only tech support we got are from fucking INDIA.

Sorry incoherent rant.

The major media networks, the social media networks, the school system, think-tanks, and basically everything that influences cultural perception through osmosis has advanced the idea of revolutionary egalitarianism and they are all intimately connected. They’ve never stopped in a consistent message that promotes violence and racial division, such that a lot of urbanites raised from birth on such artificial values never question them even when faced with imminent danger. Of course, the question is why there are so many riots in the major cities all at once and what is gained from this. A possibility is that these urbanites will move to safer, typically Republican areas and continue voting Democrat until they eventually outnumber local attitudes. At that point it’s a one-party country and there will no longer be even token opposition to revolution (not that Republicans are anything but token opposition anyway).
