Republicans know that not supporting the Commission will hurt their pull with undecided centrists so they have to balance it out by limiting voting ability.

Juries were a dumb idea to begin with and got dumber as laws grew more complex. The idea that eight or twelve people who have never seen the law in question, much less know what all that legalese means, can render a better decision than a trained judge who studies and interprets laws for a living … it’s pure insanity.
