Nor is Russia or China, who are worst than the USA. How about you aim you doom-singing to them for once, or would that require you to read up on what nations outside the USA do?

In some basic sense news, a judge has ruled that Madison Cawthorn can’t run for office on account of being an insurrectionist traitor.

This is an appealed ruling when a lower court judge ruled that no, people who try to overthrow the government are most qualified to run for government. And it’s a little late considering Cawthorn already lost his election and thus wouldn’t be going in office anyway.

But good news is good news, we now have a precedence set that laws are real ^{pending a further appeal where a lawless judge higher up says they aren’t} and thus a door that was closed to Qaren or Trump et al are now open again.

This is a containment zone, true.

If I may be blunt, it feels like you may have depression, hence your view going beyond just pessimistic. I suggest looking into that, for your own safety.

Yes, I am well aware that other countries have societal problems, as well as records of past atrocities. But some crimes are far more serious than others. This fits the trope of a Moral Event Horizon. It is a deed, or series of deeds which renders something completely irredeemable, which the US has done on not one, but MANY occasions. Any sort of positive traits it might have had in the past have completely lost value because it has become so evil. We no longer remember Charlton Heston, Phil Spector, Bill Cosby or J.K. Rowling as the famous celebrities they used to be because their awful deeds have far outweighed their previous accomplishments. Similarly, the vast majority of the world today resents the US not only for its domestic and global atrocities, but also its corrupt culture and society. And my depression is a direct result of all these factors. That’s my perspective; food for thought.

Again, the gun nuts know all they have to do is say “no,” because they don’t care if guns kill people. All they care about is that no one touches their guns, and will quickly use gun violence themselves if anyone dares to take their guns away, even if it’s the goverment. These people are criminals who make sure the law never affects them.

Russian officials are now saying they can win the war in Ukraine by fall, citing that NATO will lose interest by then and stop supplying Ukraine.

The war ain’t ending anytime soon.

Yup.

I remember when the entire world thought Ukraine would swiftly fall. Zelensky made a speech about the first weekend in the war would probably be the last time anyone would see him. And later retrieved intel indicated that Russia thought the war would be won and done in only 15 days.

We’re what, on month 4 of the war and now Russia is setting a tentative end date 5-8 months from now?
