There are some states that allow you to carry openly and concealed without a permit, otherwise known as “constitutional carry.” I know that Vermont, New Hampshire and Arizona are “constitutional carry.” I believe Utah recently became one as well.

Meanwhile in countries bordering Russia, being a legal (registered) gun owner carries a risk of being murdered during an invasion as a preventative measure (just in case you were thinking about joining a resistance movement). Same for registered radio or drone operators, BTW.
