If I’m reading this right, it’s 500 tweets per request, or 5,000,000 tweets returned for 10,000 requests per month.
Which seems at least the rate that most political pollsters and research organizations would be eating to figure out what’s happening with opinions in hot races.
Got a city the size of New York or Paris and want to track people’s opinions for tight race? Twitter’s got a big dataset that’s all juicy and waiting for you. And up to now it seems that companies have been used to getting that each night to grind for the morning’s reports.
But, that also is hitting medical and social research right in the nuts. Lots of universities have got pre- and post-grad students gleaning info from twitter just to keep track of how their own University campaigns, student or staff initiatives, and outreach are doing. They’re going from zero dollars a month to $149 per research project, basically.
Unless they want to “enterprize-size” it.

This was published months ago but I found it - noteworthy enough to post here.
Whole body gestational donation offers an alternative means of gestation for prospective parents who wish to have children but cannot, or prefer not to, gestate. It seems plausible that some people would be prepared to consider donating their whole bodies for gestational purposes just as some people donate parts of their bodies for organ donation.
We already know that pregnancies can be successfully carried to term in brain-dead women.
There is no obvious medical reason why initiating such pregnancies would not be possible. In this paper, I explore the ethics of whole-body gestational donation. I consider a number of potential counter-arguments, including the fact that such donations are not life-saving and that they may reify the female reproductive body. I suggest if we are happy to accept organ donation in general, the issues raised by whole-body gestational donation are differences of degree rather than substantive new concerns. In addition, I identify some intriguing possibilities, including the use of male bodies–perhaps thereby circumventing some potential feminist objections.

For those who don’t know, ESG (as I understand it) is short for Environment, Social Justice and Corporate Governance. And ESG funding is more dependent on things like how environmentally-friendly you are and how committed to social justice rather than bottom line profits.
The article talks about how popular ESG retirement investing is getting for younger voters, but also mentions some studies by UCLA and NYU showing that ESG typically underperforms in the broader market.

The jobs report came in hot again. The economy added 517,000 jobs last month. This is, stunning. As in, absolutely, positively, unquestionably stunning.
For context, the forecasted job growth for January was 185,000. The job report came in almost 4 times higher than expected.
The unemployment rate is now the lowest its been since before man set foot on the moon.
In fact, this jobs report is so strong, we really don’t have any comparisons.

In other news, yesterday the House voted 328-86 to pass a resolution denouncing “the horrors of socialism.” All but three Republicans voted Yea; the three exceptions did not vote at all. Across the aisle, 108 Democrats voted Yea, 86 voted Nay, 14 voted Present, and 3 did not vote.
Honestly I’m pleasantly surprised how many Dems voted Nay, but I’m unsurprised at how many voted Yea. The Dems have worked hard to make themselves Republican-lite, not caring that the Repubs and the rural white voters they desperately want back are going to call them socialist no matter what they do.
Either way, the vote was lose-lose for Democrats, and I think the Repubs were counting on it. Either vote Yea and ensure that the leftists and progs in your voter base stay home next election, or vote Nay and open yourself up to attacks not just by the GOP, but by megadonors and mainstream media.
