An excerpt of a podcast I was listening to. They’re nobody important, just some internet rando anons with hot takes, don’t worry about it.
“I think the problem of these new secular ideologies is that, they ultimately spin out of the enlightenment. What I mean is, part of my disagreement with the ‘SJWs’ is that, even if they’re all so keen on decolonization, the ultimate philosophical roots of their positions are, entirely european and come from the Enlightenment and hence they’re very impatient towards the sacred worldviews of any non-european cultures and religions”
I personally think that is sort of spot-on. The secular left, despite embracing the Abdullahs or the Aishas of the world as part of the diversity, treat them somehow about as patronizing as a colonizer would towards the native population. Tolerated, virtue-signalled, but ultimately the the secular left knows better because they’re enlightened and have books and science, nevermind that other culture have books, too.
Imo that still smells like colonization, just with a distinctly different flavor. Not that I mind. I’d happily be colonized. I frankly don’t know of any other mode of being.
