Sinovac was the first vaccine arrived and administered here in the Philippines rather than AstraZeneca or Pfizer that we most anticipated and wanted. And we have deep hatred for the Chinese government so that's obviously a massive no for that crap.

Pfizer is afraid that we will sue them if something goes wrong with their vaccines, that's why they are mostly ditching us or labelling their arrival here delayed or unknown.

China is making four.

one from Sinovac, using inactivated virus (Vero), efficacy 50.65% in trial in Brazil, 91.25% in trial in Turkey

one from Sinopharm Beijing, using inactivated virus (Vero), efficacy 79% during 3rd stage global trial

one from Sinopharm Wuhan, using inactivated virus (Vero), efficacy 72% from 3rd stage trial

one from CanSino, using adenovirus vector, efficacy 66% in global trial

And efficacy is not the only standard to measure a vaccine. There are advantage and drawbacks for every vaccine.

Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is a genetic vaccine, which injects strands containing the virus' genetic sequence into the cell. In this way the body would react more quickly and the efficacy is high. However, the acute reaction is dangerous for vulnerable groups such as elderly, children and people with chronic disease. And due to the instability of the strand itself, it must to be stored and transported at -90°C.

The three major vaccines from China use inactivated virus, which is basically dead virus. This causes less adverse reactions and is safe for all age groups. And it can be transported at room temperature. But they are less effective.

The low rate of production of Pfizer/BioNTech means they can just sustain the vaccine progress of USA and western Europe. And most countries can't even afford them. That is why other countries have to either wait or buy from other suppliers. Three major sources are China's Sinovac and Sinopharm, and Russia's Sputnik V.

I'm sorry that I forgot to report Malaysia's updates on the virus and vaccines:

1. The government will only allow interstate travel again after 80 percent of Malaysia's population is vaccinated. However, this can come early if cases are two-digits.

2. Several states (incl. Selangor) and Kuala Lumpur (the capital) has been moved from MCO to CMCO from March 5 onwards. Tourist activities are now allowed in CMCO and MCO areas, such as parks and libraries.

3. On 27 Feb, Malaysia received its first batch of Sinovac vaccines. Private hospitals are also asking for the vaccines to vaccinate the people faster.

4. The daily cases in Malaysia keep bouncing up and down: today, it went as low as 1,555 cases. On the past days — 1 2 3

5. Inciting the public not to take the vaccine is now a criminal offense in Malaysia. Americans will be mad at this …

And what do you think of Malaysia's improving condition? The government is loosening some restrictions as cases keep going down and the vaccines are being prepared.

Thank you very much! I was kinda worried because we're getting those in here.

@Count Adramélekh Sear

I don't really want to enter on this argument, and I'm not trying to offend/piss off anyone, but calling chinese people "Ching Chong" is kinda offensive in my opinion. And I've heard worse. Chinese people in here are called Coronaviruses just to name one
