If only humanity isn’t so close minded about our universe being called fake, our pace in the Kardashev Scale would skyrocket on at least Type I within the next 100 years.
Also, the fact that becoming a Type I Civilization means the entire world would need to be friends or under one flag.
Guess not a chance in a million years. We all hate each other sometimes. Were an embarassment to our Galactic neighborhood on what our species have been doing over the past 50,000 years.
The only known thing that would makes us all as one single race united is when we face a common enemy from other worlds.
It’s either we strive for our better selves and be enslaved by a super advanced alien civilization, or resist a disturbance as one till humanity’s final breath.
If say the martians stomped their tripods across the world blasting everything with their heat rays and only way to stop them is for humanity to unite, it would be martian victory within a year.
Half the world leaders would either incompetently bumble, do nothing, wonder how they can monetize it, or think of ways to join the martians. The other half would try to fight the martians and the other selfish leaders. For the martians it’s just tripods happily burning their way through multiple civil wars of ants until they win.

I remember being fascinated with Ton 618 thinking it was the biggest observable object in the universe. Pheonix A is nuts.
Ton 618 is so big, the tidal forces are actually weak meaning more objects might survive passing through it.
There is a possibility out entire observable universe is being pulled by an object that we can’t see. I don’t know how the great attractor works, it might not be like normal gravity. If the universe itself was inside a massive black hole we would barely notice the force it produces, whereas a small black hole rips everything to shreds.
@Beth
S5 0014+81 used to be the largest black hole back in 2016 until Ton 618’s size analysis.
I’m surprised Phoenix Cluster black hole’s new estimated size jumped from 20 to 100 million solar mass.
I do not know about the Great Attractor though and if that mystery would be solved, it could be a new type of force in the universe that we have yet to discover.
I don’t want to grow up to be one of those old people who do nothing but complain about how everything today “sucks”. I would rather be more open-minded and embrace what’s new until I die.

I actually think the newer generations are cool. I didn’t get sucked into the cycle of generational narcissism.
The young kids these days are some of the first to spend their entire life with internet access. No doubt they’ll change the world, and Gen Z desensitized random nihilistic humour is just awesome.
@Beth
I will never complain about how going out into the world to rent a movie is a thousand times better than renting a movie from the safety of my home.
@4Town Fan
Last thing I want to do in my free time is drive anywhere.
Home entertainment is sweet these days. 32 inch TV is all I need.
The internet itself saves so much money on entertainment. even with streaming service and rentals, it’s still cheaper than it used to be.
Yeah I liked going to the movie store because they had boxes of candy and stuff too, but I can just go to the dollar store and have more money for snacks now.
I love everything that keeps my sanity clean and sweep. I will complain if things just feels unsafe or uncomfortable for my mind.
Overexaggerated complaints like those who just hates everything because they’re past their prime are a bunch of sad people who wants to reclaim their glorious days in the present times.
