I tried the Contra Demo for Switch.
 
I mean, it’s not a bad game per say. It’s definitely going for the “Hard corp” style Contra games, but it doesn’t really have that Contra feel.
 
It’s a very balls-out kind of top-down shooter like Smash TV or Total Carnage. Not really sure I’d pick this up at launch, the lack a thrashing metal sountrack in the demo stage is very meh. Feels like a came that needs more polish before going to the market.

Imagine being so braindead that you don’t support KB&M in a fucking shooter. And anyways it’s just more evidence Konami doesn’t care about the franchises they used to make.

At least Konami finally allowed a new game to be made. (New Castlevania next plz.) Rather then just make it a Pachinko machine.
 
Besides, honestly I hate gaming with a keyboard, or mouse and some games like Contra maybe just aren’t suited for that kinda thing. (How the heck can you play Contra 3, a 6-button game on a keyboard?) Most games honestly are better with a controller honestly, but I suppose it’d be nice to have other options for the PC crowd.

In fairness, Super Contra & Contra 3 had some levels with top-down perspectives, so actually that is something from the older games. Though, would be nice if there were some sidescrolling, or “2-and-a-half-D” areas to give it a more classic Contra feel.
 
I like the cornball robot bear character though.
 
Smash TV & Carnage I wouldn’t mind getting remade.

Yeah and the last game they allowed to be made was Metal Gear Survive, and we all know how that turned out.  
Also, Most shooter games are just better with a mouse and keyboard. Higher accuracy and everything. Though, it’s mostly the mouse.

I prefer preasure sensitive sticks, and buttons personally.  
Plus clicking a mouse constantly makes my hand cramp.

I guess it’s a person thing, I don’t cramp and I use M&KB for the majority of games I play, save for third person games like Dark Souls and Spyro, those were made for controllers.

Oh, this is what I get for deciding to redo my arsenal.
