I’m not saying it’s a bad game, I’m just saying it’s more movie like than most games, not as much as Last of Us but still up there.

I think Cyborg’s “meme” summarises it quite well: People hate cinematic games and are using the worst of them to justify their hatred. All Dread and the GoW dev was ammo for them for all they cared.
I don’t hate cinematic games, I just find them less appealing because they have little replayability and have gameplay that’s not as fleshed out.
I love Dread and I hate David Jaffe calling Metroid shit because he doesn’t understand subtle game design.

Short games are always better than long ones that are worth one run, maybe two, i’ll always gravitate towards short but sweet games.

You clearly don’t understand the appeal, it’s not about collectables, it’s about beating the game as fast as possible, finding new strats and sequence breaks, and whatnot.

I think Doom has it beat, especially since you could share video files that were easy to share and examine for “unusual” inputs (aka cheating).

Doom had way players could beat the level as fast as possible while grabbing the least amount of stuff in the level(Cards, Weapons, and more).
