What? Doom Eternal does not require a ton of hardware. It’s one of the most polished and optimized PC games in ages and I can run it perfectly on my 1070 and i7 4790k.

So why complain about something unrelated? I even us the screen I have linked to my PC when I want to use a screen. If anything, that should make it better than the PS4 or Xbox One. At least the switch doesn’t require a high-quality screen for the “full experience.”

Y’all want to know why the Switch, despite the aging hardware, is still selling? Because you can play home console games on the go, which is the major selling point. Valve is already onboard the home/handheld console hybrid gimmick with their Steam Deck, where’s Sony and Microsoft?

I do but I fear it’s just too fast paced for me. I’m also not a huge fan of the acrobatics (platforming) and the health mechanics.

There’s really not that much platforming, also what’s wrong with the health mechanics? It’s not regenerating and the way it works in the reboots are great. It’s about as fast paced as the classic Dooms.

Role playing games and first person shooters, back when there were real time strategy games around a little bit of those. Nowadays there are few games that capture my interest. Everything interesting this year has failed me somehow, maybe except for Halo. All the studios I liked have decided to go full derp or just not put out anything so I have fallen on a bit of hard times in regards to gaming.

There’s nothing wrong with it at all, just not for me. Also the way those old games made you hunt for keycards and such on maze-like levels (Duke Nukem, Doom, Shadow warrior etc.) was never something I enjoyed all that much.

I not just the new Doom but the old Doom as well. Heck you can play Doom 64.
