Video Game General 2: Definitive/Remastered Edition

For some reason, Game Informer requires you to log in before accessing their site. Has that always happened before?

Again, I was mostly joking.

As for my experience with Octopath? I never got past an hour with the full game. My dumbass did two playthroughs of the demo so I could experience each character’s story, so I was already semi-burnt out on the game when I got the full version.

My neighbors really love wasps.

I took a break for a few years until Youtube recommended me the theme of the secret final boss, which cause me to decide to continue.

Yeah, but he has many points related to the character archetypes and dialogue that I think they’re valid.

I can’t complain too much because, even though I’m not into this genre, I enjoy some of these games, like Undertale, Dark Souls or Super Paper Mario. And at least the Switch has tons of interesting games. And at least Octopath Traveler seems to be decent. I can’t imagine someone playing this and saying “nah, it’s bad”.

My dumbass ALSO sold the game after that hour, since I was low on funds (never again).

Thankfully, it’s on Xbox Game Pass now, so I can always play it through there if I ever get the urge.

And my point is that even Pokemon is doing away with the mechanic. At least in Pokemon you usually just have a team of 6 to level up and exp isn’t scarce.

Y’see, I’m the weirdo that has an OCD fit if a Pokémon in my team has 2 or more levels than any of the others (and vice versa). So when that happens, I turn off EXP share and level grind them to be on the same level.

Is it weird? Probably, but I can’t help it.

Maybe because of how readily available EXP is in Pokemon, you have less reasons to not top them off.

In other news concerning Octopath, everyone can access a different class as a second class. That means you can make anyone a dancer/stripper, guy or gal.

Finally a worthy opponent their battle will be adorable and legendary!

When I get “Mario Party Superstars” next month, my plan is to play all five boards offline with easy CPUs so I can get a feel on how each board plays before I decide to take it online. In order I’m playing Yoshi’s Tropical Island, Space Land, Peach’s Birthday Cake, Woody Woods and then Horror Land.
