Again, the 12% doesn’t really matter but epic acts like it makes a big difference. I just wish Tim would be honest that the consumer doesn’t matter in the long run and neither does the developer. That 88% all goes to the publisher who wouldn’t benefit as much from it.

I’m talking about the big publishers that don’t benefit from consistent profits. Obviously Indies and self publishing studios will benefit from it, but not big publishers like Take Two, EA, and Deep Silver.

They absolutely do not make billions a day off Fortnite, and as you should have realized, given all the complaining going on here, they’ve been reinvesting a lot of their Fortnite into paying the living wages of other studios’ developers.

Yeah but Epic also hosts indie devs. Megacorp Epic not getting a few extra bucks will never be something worth even a single tear, small time devs not getting a few extra bucks by proxy is.

Epic is the reason so many development studios exist these days. They went well out of their way to make their Unreal games fully modable, gave millions of dollars to modders so they could form their own studios, made their engine, one of the best game and real time graphics engines available, free to use for commercial purposes, host free conferences and educational services…

No, they’re dishonest with their intent. Tim says he’s making a better platform for consumers but forcing them to use a client that flags you for buying too many games at once and lacks basic features that I assume are easy to implement doesn’t seem like it. And sure, valve can more than afford 12% but smaller stores like GoG could not.
