No, they don’t. One of Epic’s UE4 licensing deals is to take 5% off earnings after a certain amount (one that most indie devs never reach, and that many publishers avoid completely buy just buying a commercial license). This is typical of many middleware providers. They take that regardless of where you sell your game, except for EGS, where their take is a flat 12% regardless of engine.
 
Saying that Epic takes an extra 8% for selling on Steam is not only blatantly wrong, it’s also the most cynical way to interpret that wrongness.

Honestly, you both have some pretty solid points, but the Epic Games Store has still been rather poorly handled since its inception.

Honestly, I don’t see why Epic can’t take a console war standpoint. Have the same games that Steam has, but market it as a better choice to play it on the EGS.

Anyway, look, I respect what Epic is doing but I think they could be going about it better. And I’d use their launcher if they offered something steam didn’t like being DRM free. And I think pirating a game for being epic exclusive is a shitty thing to do, and I’m glad the games at least aren’t permanent exclusives.

Well some of the deals they give smaller devs really do help them out, and indies deserve a bigger cut because it’s hard to get by with all the big blockbuster releases.

Hey i think i found out why the lighting was so different between the original Halo and the remake, apparently allot of the lighting in the original was applied directly to textures to save processing power, so that would make replicating it weird and hard i bet,

That would make sense. I also wonder if it was another one of those situations where they lost the original source code and basically had to recreate it somehow.

Unlikely, since both Bungie and Gear box probably had it since Gear Box did the ports, it’s most likely just an example of it being different because they didn’t need to recreate the random thing that caused it,

Actually, most of the exclusives have been indie. You just don’t hear about them because well, they’re indie. The only triple A ones have been Metro Exodus, The Division 2, Borderlands 3.
