Actually, didn’t the SuperNES beat Genesis in the end?
In fact, the SuperNES Classic seems to of outsold the Sega Genesis Mini, as well. (I still see lots of Genesis Minis in stores.)
I love/have both though. They’re both sitting in front of my TV in perfect harmony. (And to complete the set, I wanna get the upcoming TurboGrafX-16 Mini too… Though, unfortunately, it’s going to be Amazon-exclusive…)

Dude, the console war has been around sense the 1980s when Atari, Mattel, Colecovision, and such were competing against each other long before Nintendo even made the NES.
Also, actually, the Wii console beat out the PS3, you forget. In fact, Nintendo’s portables like the DS & 3DS/2DS beat all of Sony’s expensive/easy-to-break portables. (Not to mention, the original Gameboy & DS still have the PS4 beat in system sales.) So Sony’s not always the “unbeaten king of gaming.”
Also, from what I hear, even though their fans are aggressive against each other, I hear IRL Sony & Nintendo get along, and are respectable rivals. Heck, the president of Sony’s Playstation division said he actually wants Nintendo to do well, (and bought 2 WiiU consoles to help them, and loves playing it with his daughter) he was quoted saying, “In order for Sony to be successful, we need Nintendo to be successful too, in order to keep gamers interested in playing games with sticks, and buttons.” (Likely refering to the rise in touchscreen Mobile gaming.)
