This fan proyect is behind a patron wall, and you need to pay to unlock more levels.
Many people say that profiting with an IP without being officially endorsed, like you said, is illegal.
But, since the existence of Patron, fanart can now be behind paywalls if the artist who created it makes that decision, even when its fanart from IPs owned by private corporations.
Whats the difference between profiting on fanart with Patron, with an almost fully playable fangame?
Its like if Black Mesa was created without Valve’s permission, and its only downloable on Patron, but since is fan content, like a lot of things, there is no problem with it?
