I understand how hard it is to run a site this big. It was hard enough to run big tumblr blogs back in the day. I have done my best to keep a level head through this discussion, and I hope that means something. As volatile as this topic is, know that there are those of us who are doing our best not to add to the irrational arguments.
 
I may be standing by my opinions, but I do so without malice.

You realize the isn’t about not being able to post aryanne, right? This was about censorship as a whole. Just because you say “We’re banning communism too!” Doesn’t fix anything. You’re still only appealing to the loud and woke crowd who are addicted to censorship and are actively trying to destroy your website by attacking your financial providers. Just go back to the way things were please.

We’re all human - we all get under pressure, and in the age of mass social media that pressure can be immense when sent from external forces. I don’t envy the position the site staff are in.
 
While I am glad there is acknowledgement that many were unhappy with the original rule change, I am a little concerned that the new description of the rules going forward still might suffer from the same kind of unclarity that had so many concerned with the original rule changed, with the difference now being that even more content might be under potential censorship threat (things like OC:veronika and Stalin Glimmer images).

If we’re banning communism because ‘people died due to famines’ under communist regimes are we also banning capitalism?
 
Every time somebody starves to death because they can’t afford food? That’s on capitalism. If they die of disease because they couldn’t access medical care, that’s on capitalism. If they died because of imperialist armies bombing their countries in pursuit of natural resources, that’s on capitalism.
 
There are a lot of deaths that are on capitalism’s shoulders if we’re going to do the same ‘it occurred while X economic theory was in charge’.

So here’s the $10,000,000 question then.
 
You say you’re not going to allow any kind of Hateful Speech. Does that include the “All Cops Are Bastards” narrative, as it’s Hateful Speech directed at Law Enforcement?

So I guess this means whenever a tabloid writes a hit piece about the fandom, you’ll just ban stuff again eh?

i’m really, really glad you said something and are taking steps to rectify this issue. in all honesty i think at this point what’s left of the site may not be worth saving; far too many bridges burned, friendships ruined, trusts broken. in spite of all that i’m glad that at least some of the remaining derpi staff that didn’t quit or get booted have some semblance of a backbone. thank you, blossomforth, for everything you’ve done for us; we don’t deserve you.

Stop. Please just stop. Step back and be neutral. The views of users do not necessarily reflect the views of the individual staff or Derpibooru. People can hide content they don’t want to see. Censoring what people do want to see isn’t the answer. All Derpibooru needs to do is be a platform.
 
Why do you keep knee-jerk reacting to things? It hasn’t even been a quarter of a day since Parasprite announced the redaction and neutral stance, and ensured users it wouldn’t happen again. And here we are. For what?

The site’s many years old and has well over a million images on it. It’s worth saving.

I agree with a ban on promotion of hateful ideologies, but I don’t agree with a ban on all art and symbolism (of Stalinism, Nazism) if it’s not promoting them. A lot of art of Starlight Glimmer is reminiscent of Stalinism, for instance, but if it doesn’t actually promote being a tankie, it should stay.
 
At this point, I have no idea what the actual rules will be since y’all are whipping back and forth, how the team handles posts and comments and which ones get removed and which don’t is everything.

My main stance on this is and always has been this is a private site than can ban or allow whatever it wants (within legal reason of course) I don’t really care about that but please pick a stance already and stick with it. This is a bit to much for me anymore.

So, we see it. Now we are sliding down. Is anthro next? Maybe foalcon? Porn entirely? This is exactly what the people standing up to censorship could see. What tags come next?

Let it be clear that the mods and assistants like me were not consulted before posting this message, and we yelled for the admins to listen to us but they did not. I disagree wholeheartedly with how the admins are running this site now and have put my resignation.
