How do I get an artist tag? Is there a process? I don’t really have an art portfolio but I could DM a mod with some of my works.

All you need to do is type in the tag name that you want when uploading an image. Anyone can create a tag. For example, if you wanted to upload your own art, you could type in “artist:moecured” (or “artist:[any unused name you want]”) when uploading, and the tag will be created when the upload is complete.
 
What I think Lincoln is talking about is how to link your artist tag to your profile (and get the artist badge in the process). If you want that (and I would recommend it for maximum control over your art on Derpibooru), then what you need to do is after creating your artist tag, click on “Artist Links” on your profile and fill out the request page.

Just a note, to create tags you have to set the tag editor to traditional, then added it with a comma separating it from the other tags. I learned that the hard way 😄

You can actually create tags through the fancy editor too. Just type out the full name of the tag you want to create and then enter.

Not trying to be rude but not really, I created my own artist tag on the phone with the fancy one (Have no idea how to use the traditional tag method).

Well, um…. just wrote Artist:FliegerFaus… and then press enter. I actually have problems with creating new tags due to typos xD.

Everything your profile uploaded, anon or not, and everything under your artist tag is still on the site. Nothing’s been merged or deleted.
 
Your filter shouldn’t be blocking any of them either .. let me check hidden images.
 
Nope, nothing hidden either. It’s possible an artist claimed an upload you made, can you describe the images you are missing?

Oh, one more thing: My profile link to my Derpibooru page needs to be fixed, as it linked to my page before I updated the username and now goes to “You can’t access that page.” Thanks :)

I like to point those to the tag itself, makes aliasing easier to keep track of, since users can change their name (which breaks links to the profile) but only moderation can do links or aliasing tags so we can watch for those ‘gotchas’.
