I refuse to bend
@Ciaran
Certainly allows certain members of this community license to do whatever that they want. “Duck” badge, in my experience reading comments and threads here has always meant “this person won’t be banned, we like them too much for that.” but hey, if you’d care to explain how TexasUberAlles hasn’t been moonbanned for discrimination and incitement multiple times already, I’ll take an explanation. I’ve seen that guy literally use the words “Subhuman” and “Troglodyte” to refer to people who he has even minor disagreements with on this site regularly.
For reference, I’m not for banning many people, especially not for speaking their mind, but seeing as I’ve been threatened with being banned for refusing to shut up about inconsistent deletions and this guy gets away with murder, I do have a problem with pretending that all posters are created equal in this regard.

All reported users goes through the same moderation processing. Duck badges and bans are issued independently of one another.
I invite you to use the report system in case you see any user breaking rules.
Cheers!

Don’t know if this is a bug or what, but >>722416 (deleted) is still up despite being by an artist who wishes to not be associated with the site due to the nazi ban backpedal. Was an exception granted for this specific image? If not, it should probably be deleted as well.

Not a mod, but I’d guess it’s this: looking at the tag history for that image, it did not have an artist tag* until about nine months ago, which seems safe to say is a point in time after any deletions due to enacting the 2-year-old DNP would have happened. Therefore, it would have been missed.
I did a quick search via source URL to see if there were any other obvious untagged posts, and that looks like the only one.
By the way, I thought matters like this should be addressed through the report system, not the forum?
*And at that point, the tag was misspelled, and only corrected 23 days ago.

Yeah, in hindsight, a report would have been better. I just wanted to ask if an exception had been granted for some reason or another, just in case. Though it turns out it wasn’t even tagged until much later…

Out of curiosity, about how many “forbidden” tags are there, and are any still on an image? I know “tagme” and I also believe the retired voting-related tags, though I don’t know if there are any others. And I’m pretty sure there are some tags that are locked so that only staff can add them, too…

I’m going BGP mode for this one, but I have something to ask about a recent pic I reported.
I reported a pic yesterday that I thought was breaking rule 0 since it seemed like the image was made to be offensive, and then a few hours later the pic got deleted, only for the pic today suddenly going back online a while ago, even after i reported it again.
Can someone help explain the reasoning for why it got deleted only for the deletion to be reserved? I’m curious to know why.
(im not trying to make this come off as rude or anything sorry if it seems that way)

You may want to describe the image in the vaguest terms. That may help you figure out why it was later re-uploaded. If it hadn’t just fallen through the cracks of reports.
I have my own question. Tonight, I was not logged in on mobile and I noticed the words that I had been banned? If I made stupid comments in years past as a BP, I would like to have them sent to me in some way if possible so I can reflect on what I said. I will never do that again. I only have a vague sense of what was done wrong in years past as a BP. This is what it said:
“Rule #4/6/7 - Off topic and periodically above rating comments plus ban evasion. Does your parent or guardian know you are doing this?“
Above rating comments was understandable as that became clearer of a rule. Yes, I had complained about images when I should use the filters. I have even reported a comment on a meme picture recently for breaking the image rating = comment rating rule. I don’t understand the ban evasion part. Maybe blanket IP ban? And any comments I made at the time, I was of (im)mature age.

Somehow Omnipresent?
@Canyon Light
Logged in users aren’t affected by IP bans.
It’s likely you were on a mobile network, which results in tens of thousands of people going through the same IP. And at some point someone on that network did some shit and earned a ban.
If the ban were for you, you’d be banned.

Thank you for the explanation. It seems to have been a one day occurrence while not logged in whilst on mobile. It concerned me enough to ask. Phew.

Some of your reports are a little difficult, so they’re taking a while. I claimed the oldest one though and will get it done tomorrow, and will try to grab the other two if no one else does before I get to them.
I’m once again stuck at my 3 report limit, the oldest two at 12 and 13 days. Is there not a state other than “closed” that frees up a report slot? Also, have they truly not even been looked into - they’re all on “Open”, none are “in progress”? I understand that some kinds of reports take a long time to fully resolve, and to be clear, I’m not intending to express any impatience on how how long before they’re resolved, only how long they occupy reporting capability and the inconvenience that brings.

At this particular moment, I was going to mention via report that the merge of >>2796270 (merged) into >>2822970 seemed like the reverse of what would have been proper, because the latter appears only to have been upscaled with no true extra detail brought by the higher pixel dimensions - something that seems true for many of that user’s uploads, and seems like a Rule #6 violation.

Is there not a state other than “closed” that frees up a report slot?
Sorry, no. I think the only states are ‘Open’, ‘In Progress’, and ‘Closed’.
Just glancing at your open reports, they are ones that require a lot of research and then discussions with the people involved. I am not working your reports, but a month or three to handle some of those would not be unexpected since it involves training and a very long commitment to make the changes necessary.
So, it’s not unexpected that they are still sitting.
For me, when I work reports like that, I replicate the report myself with my own report so that the original reporter can open new reports, and the existing problem is still tracked but in a way that doesn’t prevent the original reporter (you) from opening new reports.
I’m not saying it’s a perfect situation, but that’s how the current process works, and the reports you’ve reported really do take a long time to work.
What I’ll do is claim your reports and then translate them to new reports so they can be documented, processed, and tracked, and so there’s an audit trail.
I don’t know that I can work those reports - I’ve got several that are also months-long efforts to work through. But I’ll at least free up your slots so you can open new ones.
As for the merge someone else will have to work those, I don’t have any open slots myself right now.
@Background Pony #699F
In the end I’ve claimed those reports and will work them. Since I need to contact people on other sites to get some of them done, give me a few days/weeks for turnaround.
If you’d like a follow up when they’re done, please send me a PM and I’ll keep you updated on their progress.

That’s all fine. The only part I took issue with is the site-functionality aspect of long-process reports remaining in the system in an open state for so long.
For me, when I work reports like that, I replicate the report myself with my own report so that the original reporter can open new reports, and the existing problem is still tracked but in a way that doesn’t prevent the original reporter (you) from opening new reports.

Thanks. I am, of course, always curious to know what shakes out, but I don’t need to know.

With the help of the database dumps, I’ve located around 150 spam comments, some of them going back to early 2020. Should I still report them for removal, even if there’s so many of them?
(They’re all .mov/episode name spam made by anons, so locating them is actually quite easy.)

Oh, that guy. Yea, send me a PM with the list of them, or open a single report with the whole list in the text field, and I’ll GREP them into the links I need to get at them.

Do you prefer actual clickable links to each comment, or a list of (image id, comment id) pairs, or some other format? It’s a Python script, I can style the output freely.
EDIT: There are 267 comments on the final list.

If you can make them clickable, that’s fantastic! If not, then just pointing to the images with the comments is enough for me to find them. From there I can mundge them with tools.
So:
Easiest for me: https://derpibooru.org/images/2691462#comment_10018288
Perfectly useable: >>2691462
And anything between is fine. Thank you for finding those - if I’m guessing the individual properly, we call them the ‘swag.mov spammer’. They also do massive run-on posts listing the casts of entirely unrelated movies or shows. Like, listing every voice actor who ever appeared in Adventure Time and what episodes they were not in, on an image with Pinkie Pie.
