Blocking users and Vote power

Today I saw an image complaining about how voting was misused… it had like -50 score :/

Any upload related to voting will get downvoted to hell without much thought simply for the schadenfreude. Any comment about it will almost always trigger a downvote spree.

Guess what, I know the solution for all your problems.  
It will help to stop people from downvoting stuff just because they not like it and will make Derpibooru an overall more peacefuller place!

Also, in the case of explicit and other similarly spoiled pictures, downvotes are handy to prevent me from getting a big ol’ blast of accidental toilet porn.

A mediocre but harmless image will have a similar score to a MSPaint trolling image; the first will largely be ignored and get few upvotes, the other will get upvotes from the usual ponces “for teh lolz”.

I for one despise all this complaint about voting “abuse”. You grant us that power, then I sure as hell have every right to use it however I feel.

Frankly, I have to wonder what possesses people to create an army of alts just to mass-vote on images (or in Kein’s case, just to post images). What are you doing if you have that sort of time on your hands?

It’s still the best way to handle this because it will stop all other problems with downvotes, also when people aren’t able to download pictures they can finally start to use the blacklist feature. Because that is what it is for.  
Also they are people which are enjoying “MS Paint Trolling Images” while really few people actually care about bad art.

No. Also give people the ability to edit tags, sources and post comments, Sure as hell you don’t have the right to use those as you wish. This problem is just more insidious and hard to see.

No, blockhead, what he said was “Hey, I have the right to express my opinion, so I’m going to use it.” Downvoting images isn’t hurting people in any way.

If I like an image I upvote, if I don’t I downvote. It is a simple matter of expressing opinion, and in no way comparable to that analogy of murder you provided.

If you don’t like an image, sure. But what we’re dealing with is people downvoting literally thousands of images because they have a certain character they don’t like. That is, the images are all tagged with a certain tag, and they’ve downvoted every instance of that tag.
 
And then we have people, and not really just a few, that downvote nearly everything. Because they can, not because they don’t like it, but simply because they can.

I agree totally, I find it very offensive how many people just downvote all Nazi-Germany related pictures. It’s really an act of mass discrimination by this large and intolerant userbase against all Nazis.  
The aggressive downvoting of Justin Bieber images is even worse and shows how much hate against Justin Bieber on a website like this exists, which is just sad for every Bieber fan on this page.  
It’s sad, really.

If I don’t like an image for ANY reason, I’ll downvote it, whether its because its poorly drawn, antagonistic, obnoxious, or yes, just because I’m spiteful that the fetishes I like get downvotes just for being what they are, so I return the favor to the… what, two fetishes I actively dislike? And even then if its well drawn, I tend to leave it be.
 
I upvote stuff that I like enough that I’d want to share it. My upvotes list is part of how I do my image sharing dumps to the MSPA forum’s pony thread. I also tend to give them to my favorite subjects that I’d like people to draw more of, such as preening, to help encourage the artists even if the quality of the image isn’t that great.
 
I only favorite images that I like enough that I can say “Damn, this is very relevant to my interests. I want to put my name at the bottom of that page.”

I sometimes wonder how much ‘stuff’ is used up on just tabulating votes on NG. It seems like it would be a lot with the constant rating adjustment, and being able to upvote anything, even the same things, once per day.
