I clicked on the DLC stuff in the store, but I never saw something for the badge. It’s still April 1st and it seems you can no longer get one now. I am a very sad bat. :’(

I like my wallet. It’s a good wallet.  
I still criticize that IMO the badge button’s hover text was misleading about the badges’ mutual exclusivity and could have been phrased better, but that doesn’t mean I want to lose my wallet.

I got the wallet, but then cheated and threw it away so I could get the dollar.

You weren’t really cheated out of the Economist badge. I think it was just more of an oversight in hinting at the other badge.
 
Meow had a good idea with the two badges, having one be harder to get, and having a hint for the second one, but maybe it didn’t work as intended. I know some people didn’t see the mouseover text on mobile.
 
Maybe it went exactly as planned as well. Who knows?
 
I’ll admit that I got upset when I found out about Economist after quickly getting Investor and then finding out that getting Investor forbid you from getting Economist. I just don’t want to think that Meow intentionally wanted to upset people.

Honestly, anyone who was around a year ago should already know not to go straight for the immediately obvious first option.  
Had I known there was a separate badge for resisting, I wouldn’t have played along and got the equal sheeple badge – hindsight’s 20/20, live and learn, and take the time to look around (or at least check if anyone’s dropping hints ) next year.
