Feature suggestions and discussion [READ THE FIRST POST]

I’d rather better Android support than 3DS Browser support. At least Chrome or Firefox mobile browsers are mostly robust, and my 3DS is almost always set to Pokemon mode.

True, but I still prefer the look of neigh/yay to up and down arrows. It makes the site more engaging to the target demographic (bronies).

I have to ask, if we have faving implemented now, what’s the point of cataloging upvotes? Seems redundant.

I think the distinction is made because faves are meant to be public and upvotes are meant to be private.

Nothing really dramatic or important but how’s about a “Refresh Comments pane” button at the bottom of the comments page, just like the one that’s currently at the top?
 
The reason is that I like to view the comment histories and view oldest comments first. If I’m following comments on a very active image (*cough>>526820cough*), I have to scroll back up to the top of the page to refresh the comments.

You can also hit F5. The page should spring back to where you last left off. I think. And if it doesn’t you just have to hit End.

On my “B” laptop, I still have 5x10 images per page, ie. 5 images per row. On my “A” laptop, I logged out to check on what the homepage looked like for unregistered users and now I only have 4 images per row after logging back too. Curious.
 
Don’t you sometimes feel that the 4x4 default (16 images per page) is too little? It makes people more vulnerable to frontpage flooding and puts older images (even those that were uploaded the same day) at a disadvantage.
 
I know this is fantasy, but I also dream of a feature when I could select how many images I want to see a page. You could use the UP and DOWN keys to zoom between 1x1 (only one image) to 4x4, 5x5 and above, and use the LEFT and RIGHT keys to move between thumbnail pages. (These keys of course would be disabled after you go into a full view image.)

the ability to turn off anonymous comments on one’s uploads.

Discuss it somewhere else. It’s been discussed constantly and people will give you answers elsewhere. This is not the place: It’s for actual legitimate requests and site discussion.

Because, despite what you may think, the majority of trolling and shitposting is not done by anonymous users.
 
Also because, unlike dA, uploading an image here doesn’t give you any special privileges. Derpibooru isn’t your personal blog - it’s a community image archive. If you want a hugbox where you can delete comments you don’t like or disable anonymous comments on images you upload, there are plenty of other sites which fill that role.

After 4 Bans it is probably better to delete the user permanently. Better than pillory him…
 

 
That would be a rather reasonable decision, since some people clearly think that they could do anything when they hide behind anonymity. But only if they misused the function before.

I disagree. What is so WRONG with having that option and the ability to publicly see someone’s bans for reference??

It prevents anyone without an account from commenting on certain images. That alone is a significant reason not to implement it.

Bans are private and should remain that way. If a ban is permanent, I’ve seen mods put a reference to that in the banned user’s name.
 
Anonymous comments of any kind will never go away, that’s been a very well established rule for a very long time now. Mods use it to browse the site unimpeded.
