Yeah. GIFs too sometimes get completely annihilated this way (it uses something like nearest neighbour/doesn’t recalculate a new color palette or something??)
Anyway, yeah at least jpeg’s should be rendered better. Don’t hold me to this, but last time I checked, ImageMagick defaults to
-quality 80
or something for jpegs. Should be more something like 95 imo.

You mean having Tag Changes “reportable”, just like you can report users, comments, forum posts, etc? In the first scenario (unsure about system tag) that might be useful. In the second scenario (tag war) it would still be useful, but I think something like “Tag Changes (whether added or removed) by a site mod (or trusted user or something like that – we need more modroles) can only be overridden by users with mod rights, but not “normal” users would also be a nice thing to have. (so basically, if I added

to an image, nobody except other mods can take it off again)
… what am I typing if we did that we’d still need people to at least be able to report those changes, because mods sometimes make mistakes too.
