One coder has made the backend and another coder is planning on doing the front end maybe this weekend, but the stars need to align and another coder be around for all three to get together and “make it work”.

So… maybe in a week, maybe never.

Hobbyist site development is great.

It’s set to only display on questionable and explicit images. If it’s showing elsewhere that’d be bad.

I imagine you’re seeing it on that recent Furrybelle comic? ~~Not entirely sure why that’s marked questionable…~~

On a more serious note, we don’t plan many featured images ahead, except for users’ and other mods’ suggestions. We try to keep relative freshness in the featured image box, but busy days happen to everyone and choosing a new image must wait. Setting a 48-hour deadline would get missed occasionally, and that would be a shame for the users. The quality of some image choices might drop a little too, if a mod needs to hurry with picking another one, rather than take our time to pick an art truly worthy of featuring.

You could make the grounds for featured image something simple like “rating=safe and score>200”. Then you could just have a simple script pick a random image that fits those criteria.

We like to feature older images as well that got largely overlooked due to being uploaded before the PB migration or at its peak when there was a flurry of uploads but little interaction.

Gonna quote BgP here ’cause it seems like a good suggestion. Apologies if someone mentioned it already.

Maybe it would be good if typing a keyword made associated tags appear when you upload/edit an image (in the tag box) but you have the option to remove them then before actually saving and having them appear automatically afterward. I don’t know if that’s even possible to do though.

The upload page is being redesigned to add implied tags before you actually upload. (so if you upload r63 shipping you’d be able to remove the “canon” orientation tag on the spot rather than after uploading; also lets us mass add ratings tags to some things).

Oh, and that’s also happening Soon™. Bottlenecked on the UI coding front.
