No, that’s my point though. That case – which is a large proportion of ‘unarmed’ killings – is one of those 9 or 19. That’s why we aim for zero unjustified killings, not zero unarmed killings. As an aside, it’s also perfectly possible for an armed person to be killed by a cop without justification.

ACAB is not an attack on the character of every individual in the police force. It is an acknowledgement that the institution of the police makes it’s members into bastards and does not allow itself to be reformed from the inside.

Yeah, except calling everyone right of center a nazi is part of a concerning amount of the “common parlance”. ACAB literally stands for “All cops are bastards”. So what part of that phrase makes you think that it implies that only some of the cops suck? Because it’s pretty sweeping.

Read up on motte & bailey doctrine. tl;dr is that you propose an incredibly controversial idea, and when challenged on it, fall back to a much more socially acceptable idea. Example would be BLM – defunding the police / reparations are the bailey, “black lives matter, how could you disagree with that?” is the motte. You use the motte to deflect criticism, whilst you’re really calling for the bailey.

Yep, been seeing that a lot. Funnily enough, I’ve seen the anti censorship side being accused of doing just that, but in reality the ideals on the anti censorship side have seemed pretty clear cut the whole time.

The pro-censorship side are more guilty of it, in my opinion. The motte is just wanting to prevent Nazis from having a platform, the bailey is huge amounts of humor/fetish art/entire sections of imagery being banned.

My opinion? I wish things would go back to the way they were and people would shut up. Derpibooru is an archive site for pony fan art, whatever that entails. Foalcon, rape, racist shit and other disturbing shit is allowed so them trying to get rid of one thing while keeping the others was a bone-headed move in the first place. Just do it how it was done before. Ban problematic people and remove low quality posts.

The thing that a lot of people don’t seem to understand is that Aryanne was the canary in the coal mine for the radical left. If they could get rid of Nazis, then they could start to go after everything else they don’t like. They’ve been doing this in other spheres for a decade and a half now.

Yeah, we are gonna see a lot of calls for bans on that in the future. I’m sure also now that derpibooru has entered into the consciousness of the mainstream media, we will see a lot more reports bringing up how derpibooru hosts foalcon, regardless of whether they ban nazi content or not. Then, we’ll start seeing reports about how MLP fansites are trying to goad your children into bestiality, or some ridiculous shit like that.

I’ve honestly never been a fan of Aryanne, I’ve had her on my main filter for about three years, but I also understand that the vast majority of people who like her, and also the vast majority of people with an interest in Nazi/totalitarian symbolism and imagery, are not Nazis. I also understand that if we don’t have free speech for every artist, no matter how much we disagree with their views/content, then we don’t have it for any artist.
